Certaldo: City of Culture |
In every season of the year, there are many reasons to visit Certaldo, Giovanni |
Boccaccios city. An extraordinarily intact Medieval village, a real open air |
museum, composed of streets, alleys and squares. It is entirely built with red bricks |
and still surrounded by defence and buttress walls that enclose the castle that |
overlooks the valley. There stand tower houses and historical buildings, that today |
are seats of museums, and handicraft workshops that carry out pieces of work live. |
Moreover, there are contemporary art exhibitions. In fact, throughout the year, |
Certaldo hosts permanent and seasonal exhibitions and many cultural and artistic |
events. Moreover, the tourist will find handicraft workshops, very charming typical |
restaurants, from which it is possible to enjoy the panoramic views of incomparable |
beauty of the Tuscanian country. |
