The small town of Vinci offers one of the most fascinating Tuscanian landscapes, |
characterized by many vineyards, olive groves and typical dry stone walls. Situated |
in the heart of Tuscany, Vinci is located in a green countryside that gives an |
enchanting and magic beauty to the surrounding landscape. The small town stands |
out from afar for its imposing Castello dei Conti Guidi. At the foot of this castle, the |
village spreads. In the castle complex, there is also the Chiesa of S. Croce, with its |
high belfry. The town of Vinci is one of the Renaissance Lands, par excellence, |
because it was the hometown of the great artist and scientist Leonardo da Vinci, in |
fact, the Museo Ideale, consecrated to him, is located there, as well as the |
Biblioteca Leonardiana and the Museo Leonardiano that collects a wide range of |
models of Leonardo's inventions. Vinci, that has always been a flourishing agricultural |
centre, is famous for the production of the D.O.C.G. Chianti wine and of high-quality |
olive oil. |
